August 2026 Levy Information

Election Day is August 4, 2026.
This four-year levy REPLACES the current expiring levy at the same rate we
have had for the past 4 years. This means there will be NO INCREASE IN
TAXES if this levy passes.

This local levy provides approximately 10% of our budget and fills the funding
gap between what we receive in state funds, and what it takes to provide the kind of safe and secure schools this community wants for its children and families.
The levy pays for:

  • ALL middle school and high school after school sports, including football,
  • volleyball, cheer, wrestling, basketball, softball and baseball.
  • The annual rental fee for use of the Darrington Community Center
  • Support staff, including paraeducators, for student learning and safety
  • Operating costs including transportation and facilities maintenance.

Our community has a proud history of supporting our schools and community
center, passing our regular Educational Programs & Operation levies with a
comfortable margin for more than 35 years.

  • Like many families, the district is experiencing the impacts of rising costs and has made significant spending cuts to keep our budget balanced.
  • We get high marks for the careful way our budgets are handled by the auditor, never going into debt as some districts do.
  • We heard the voice of the community in the February election and are running
this levy for the same amount as the expiring levy so there will be NO
INCREASE IN TAXES for our community.
