End Cruelty, Be Kind
Darrington Says ICE Out For Good
In response to the brutal killing of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on January 7, 2026, a group of about twenty gathered to say No to cruelty, No to this administration's terror campaign against people, and that ICE does not belong in our cities and towns. Local law enforcement is taking care of local criminal enforcement, while federal agents only create problems. ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), has been funded to massive levels while programs that help people such as food and education have been gutted.

Darrington signs say:
"What happened to Love Thy Neighbor?" – "Melt ICE" – "If we Hated AMERICA, we wouldn't be fighting for it!" – "Justice for Good!" – "We the People Means Everyone!" with flags flying, hands waving, smiles and friendship all around.

What is happening in this country?
The idea was to target the worst of the criminals such as drug dealers in this country illegally. What happened and is currently happening every day now is that law abiding people, working families, and citizens are being targeted, abducted, and taken away. Parents are afraid to send children to school, workers are afraid to go to work. Now a person has been killed on the streets of this land of the free, home of the brave, where we thought we had liberty and justice for all. Many people have known for a very long time that this is not the case. A white woman has now been killed in the same neighbor where a black man was murdered five years ago. We will always remember what happened to George Floyd.

For some background on the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration Enforcement, the Encyclopedia Britannica is one source.
Excerpts from this Britannica article:
One of the major themes of Trump’s 2024 campaign for a second presidential term was his promise to deport all undocumented immigrants living in the United States (some 11 million people) by conducting raids on immigrant communities and employers and sending immigrants to military-controlled deportation camps.
ICE raids in sanctuary cities and other areas were frequently conducted in sensitive locations that had been off-limits for immigrant arrests—including churches, schools, and hospitals. Even immigrants attending legally required hearings at immigration courts to avoid deportation were subject to arrest in or near the courthouses where their hearings took place.
